Why are weeks counted from my last period?
Most women know the first day of their last period and few know the day of conception. So pregnancy is counted from that date, and a full pregnancy is 280 days, or 40 weeks.
How do pregnancy weeks turn into months?
Months differ in length, so clinicians count in weeks. As a rough guide, 40 weeks is a little over nine months. The calculator shows your week and day and your trimester.
Which trimester am I in?
The first trimester runs until 14 weeks, the second from 14 to 28 weeks, and the third from 28 weeks until birth. The calculator shows yours for the date you choose.
